Its now 1500 miles since the 6000 service on my 2010 and i am fairly convinced that its not running as smooth as before. I seem to remember 20mph town trickling could be done in second or third gear with almost closed throttle and it was like a sewing machine.now it's definitely a bit lumpy in second, not serious but not sewing machinelike Anyone else experienced these slight changes in smoothness? the carbs were 'rebalanced' during the service - could this be the problem?

I've got exactly the same issue with my 08 after the 12k service. Smooth as a baby's bum before it went in and then after it all felt a bit lumpy/rattly.

Decide it was all in my mind and low and behold it got all smooth again. Riding to work this morning and started to think about the rattle again.

Nothing wrong with the bike but I can't help thinking it's maybe down to atmosphere or brand of fuel. Some days super smooth others a (little) bit of a nail:confused::confused:

As is often repeated:

Throttle balance must be absolutely spot on
valve clearance and rocker end float need to spot on
TPS reset is worth doing

It's difficult to get all of the above right, regrettably sometimes a service may not be done with due care

Even when everything is right, the vibes can come and go at random but I find the engines are best, like most are, when the air is cool and worst when they get hot and bothered

If your 1200 has carbs, that is the problem.
It should have throttle bodies and fuel injection........
Try asking the service bay what they have done to your bike.
