Snatchy - accelerator module?

Havent had much use of the 650 yet but I find the 650 quite snatchy in slow moving situations. would an accelerator module help with this, smooth throttle control out a bit?

I have the twin & yes, it's snatchy at low speeds. I gave it to BMW Rainbow in Rotherham who did a software update which has cured quite a bit of it. But I still have to slip the clutch below 20mph if the terrain is a bit rough otherwise I could end up in a hedge

My better half and I both have 650's, leaving in October to do the Long Way Down thing . She's had her bike for 4 years now and says it's always been like that. I seem to be getting wrist ache if too much slow riding so hoping Africa will be all smooth going

I have an accelerator module if you would like to try it I can post it down if you post it back when you have tried it. I have an akropovich pipe on my bike and this appears to have smoothed out the snatchiness. PM your address and i will post it down.

Colint, thanks for the offer, very generous! i think it would cost nearly as much to post down to me and return as it would to buy the thing!

I put one of these things on my 1200 as at the time i thought that was snatchy, now i know the true meaning! for the 1200 it did seem to smooth things out although not by much.

Do you think that the module smoothed things out for you with the standard exhaust? i wont be changing ours as x2 it's prohibitive just before a big journey.

I find mine to be much smoother at low speed since fitting a 16 tooth front sprocket.

That was the next option that Rainbow suggested to me when they updated the software. Considering your LWD trip, it may be worth reviewing the standard set chain / sprocket set up for off-road riding.
I've heard great things about CW M'cycles - I know one lady who rides there from Norfolk because their service is so good.

I have found a definite improvement using an accelerator plug on an 800gs. Takes away the snatch when you roll on or off the throttle at low revs. IT is not perfect still but much better. You could also look at using a throttle tamer, which I think you an only get from the US. It uses a cam to slow up the throttle cable movement at the low rev stage.

I also had aching wrists. The cause may not always be obvious. The cure for me was to use grip puppies, but may not work if you have small hands or short fingers. Cheap and worth a try.

I'm going to look at changing chain/sprocket before I look at the accelerator plug, mainly because I cant see it making too much difference but what do I know!

I found that going down to the 16T sprocket was a significant help, along with keeping the chain a little "loose" (not too tight!) and grip puppies. Mileage helps a little too.
