Tim Cullis said:I also did the piste linking the tops of the Dades and Todra Gorges which goes up to 9000 feet.
I really enjoyed reading it, thanks.

On my Michelin map I've tried to trace the route you took in parts 4.5 (dissappeared) and 5. Have I got this right?:
From Ouarzazate you headed northeast on tarmac road N10 as far as the town of Boumalne Dades, then turned left on the tarmac road UP the Dades Gorge (R704 heading north). My map shows the tarmac turns into piste somewhere above the gorge, then it goes over a pass called Tizi-n-Ouano and THIS was the piste with the snow on it, heading towards the village of Agoudal ('Agduar' as you spelt it), yes?. From Agoudal you followed the Land Rover south on piste R703 to the TODRA gorge (I recognise your photos) and Tinerhir.
The piste that Tim rode between the two gorges seems to start and finish the same way but cuts off the corner by not going as far north as Agoudal.
These look like brilliant, challenging routes![]()

I should add that this cavalier approach doesn't always work out, three of my colleagues didn't return,so take it easy out there.

There is a further point which I don't think has been mentioned or - if it has - not strongly enough, and that is he decided to go off-road alone and with the wrong tyres and promptly got into trouble. Call me a wuss but he could have easily broken a leg, dislocated a shoulder and found himself alone in very difficult and life threatening circumstances.
It may read wonderfully chaotic but in truth it was an unbelievably irresponsible thing to do.
