Snowrun.2009

Any pictures of previous runs. ?

Me and a couple of mates fancy this,we would be travelling down from cheshire.

How many miles would we cover, were would we finish ?
Would it be mostly offroad ?
Would it be a allday ride ?

Thanks Gary.

Hi Gary,

The full route I have planned is 160 miles starting from Abergavenny and finishing in Abergavenny with a trough stop in Llandovery.

There will be no intentional off-road:D but the route contains numerous slippery lanes and one of the best A roads Wales has to offer.

If your travelling down from Chesire its definately going to be an all-day ride.

Obviously the weathers going to play a big part in the route if its still icy, however its been raining down here in the sunny south and the temp is set to climb a little so I expect the weather like my wife to thaw a little.:D

Kick-off time will be 10.00 am sharp from the main bus station in Abergavenny, so please be on time and fully fuelled as we can't delay the kick-off time.

There'll probably be between 15 and 30 depends who wakes up with a headache tomorrow morning.

Step away from the credit card.:D

Gorra nice new badery for me RT and fitted it today :thumb well would ave done scept the holes too small  story of my life. If you have ever tried fitting one to an old airhead, you know a few mm means yes or no go. Might be up early enough for a cage visit to Llandovery. The old lady won't be out tomorrow

anyone going up from gorseinon/swansea west area tomorrow? weather permitting (its freezing now), say about 8.30-8.45 ?

all things considered, i will be there. Last year was great...all those icey hairpins although the weather looks a bit milder this time (well it is in the south west). Anyone travelling up from somerset way??? looking to stop at Aust services for a fuel stop around 08.45 hrs. Got caught a bit short last time and was on fumes as i fuelled at Gordano. See you all tommorrow (hangover permitting).

Minus 3 here this morning chaps, otherwise I would be there. cul-de- sac still all frozen here and its 12.21 pm . Sun is allways too low here this time of year. looking forward to the photos.:thumb

Met a few (all!) at the West End around 1 pm for lunch, TOW GENTLE OFFS, one slow on ice, and VERN STATIONARY:blast:blast aLWAYS GOTTA BE ONE, little legs, long way down :augieno pics on a laptop, not mine

To be honest it wasn't that cold except in the foggy bits

Must buy Vern some stabilizers or a fourth leg for his Donkey.:D

Well done to everybody that turned up, shame the ice got the better of us in the end.

I'll run the route again in about March

Here's some pics

Just fit a couple of ski's onto those pizza carriers :nenau :D

Again a great run. Apologies to all for my 'moment' as this did make us decide the main road was probably the best option for the rest of the run. Thanks to Vern for not running me over (it must have been close) and helping me get the bike back on its feet and to the rest of the guys for the morale support. I thought the 6.8 score for deportment was a little on the low side considering the length of the slide.....OK i didnt get a triple salko in but hey it was all a bit sudden. After that Im thinking of auditioning for dancing on ice!!!!! The bike got me home safely and Ive had a look at the repairs. Nothing a bit of superglue and a very large hammer wont sort out. Blimey those Hepco and becker bars are really good and can take a whack! The tank does have a bit of a dent in it, however, I think the dent in my pride and confidence was bigger. God i rode like a p***y for the next 50 or so miles but i have to say, you guys have all been there and got the t shirt and kept me going for the rest of the day. Appreciated. Take care and look forward to the next run.

Who is this Vern that fell off then,I don't see any pictures of the event so it can't of happened at all:augie

Tin Tin,you can be upgraded to a 7.2 if you like:thumb2
