:D so picked up my new GS SE today in Alpine white ,Adventure wheels + seat along with Free panniers :thumb2 first impressions are that i like it a lot. It feels a lot lighter than my GSA is faster off the mark though I am running it in ,and easier in traffic. Since I gave up some private work in Portsmouth in march I have used the GSA less and less ,mainly because it seemed too big in traffic and I use a T Max as well.My Idea was to keep with a GS but get one more suitable to my needs now. The SE is Ideal in that It's between a GSA and a GS ,hieght wise as it uses an Adventure seat.it feels slimmer and lighter ,though there is less protection from the small screen and tank.Range clearly is less,189 miles it says where as the GSA could do 300 ..........but I never did:augie In Short I like it ,Its not a massive difference but the issues I personally had with the GSA and my current motorcycle needs have been sorted in the SE version:comfort:thumb

I had a a blue 08 GS and chopped it in for a new GSA which I love.
I have to say though that your SE looks the business. Very nice indeed.

Nice one Robbo,
I tried to get an se but there were none left.
Anyway got a standard gs with some nice bits on it came yesterday:thumb2
Just off out to try and fit the touratech spots which came off my 1150se.

Nice one :thumb2 Do you miss the Adventure screen? I ask because I have just fitted the tinted Adventure screen and winglets to my SE and I find it a huge improvement over the standard GS Screen.

mnnnn

reckon thats what I'll do at the first service!!:augie

So now your going to customise your SE to look even more like the GSA you had, may have been easier to just change the petrol tank on you old GSA :D

Not that i can talk about splashing out on aftermarket parts :augie

Nice looking bike that SE, especially in white.

I went from a GS to a GSA this year. It is a big old beast compared to the GS, and I find that she's a handful off road. Its fine off road at speed, but she’s a behemoth when you stop, especially if you're a bit short in the leg department.:blast

Had my SE about a month now, lowered the screen to bottom settings and getting used to the noise, wind and buffetting, it is tollerable and all part of bike riding. I have considered the adventure screen but think that the smaller tinted factory fitted one looks correct for the bike, shame to change i think.

I also haven't noticed any lumpiness at low revs and i am pretty hyper critical / aware of such things when just spent out on something straight out of a box. I think mention it asap just in case it does go on to become something that needs fixing.

How many of these SE's are there and are they only in white is what i would like to know.

I know!! It is though an easier bike in town and the screen is not actually bad its just noticable after GSA's for 6 years .The one thing I wil fit is a Vario top box ,how much are they?:nenau

Dave

Are they tinted the same as teh screen, do you think they actually do anything and do you have to drill the bikes panels to fit them?

Cheers

Winglets hugely improved my 2005 GS, a few years ago and were fitted without the benefit of the underneath strengthening that the GSA has. Do a search on here and fit wings.:D

Picked my new SE up about 3 weeks ago.

Got my first ever speeding ticket about a week ago!

Too busy watching the rev counter (running it in) to see the damn camera!

Chuffed with the bike though, so much lighter than my old 1150.

Robbo if your interested I have a spare vario topbox that I am looking to sell for £100 plus P&P. That includes the base plate but not the supporting brackets as I have them om my current base plate for current vario topbox. If your interested then you can e mail me on derek.paterson@tesco.net. There is a slight scuff mark on the top box which occurred when the bike was toppled. Hence the reason I have two. I would also include the lock for the topbox as well, obviously. If it had not been covered by my subsequent insurance claim I would still be using it. Realise that you might not want a used topbox on a new bike. Its up to you, thought I'd offer anyway, just gathering dust in my garage at the moment.

Had my SE now for nearly 3 months and it is great no problems at all! It is off for its 6000 mile service next week! :clap
