Hey all,
I recently swapped out my GS centre stand for the GSA one, because my GSA side stand was fouling on the shorter GS centre stand.
whilst this has solved the issue, the bike is now rather hard to put on the centre stand and when fitting I noticed that the GSA stand is twisted, so the kick stand side of the stand sits lower than the other (when retracted/horizontal) This seems to be due to a very worn pivot on the bike it came from and hard use poor/maintenance. Its fitted well with no play in the pivot on my original mounting bushes.
So has any one ever tried to straighten a twisted stand? I presume with heat, - does it work or will they just crack?
It's at present just minor bug bear, but over time its gonna become more and more of pain ... and the bloody thing was impossible to get on the centre stand at the garage to fuel up.
so any thought would be appreciated.
