Can someone tell me how difficult it is to do a 24000ml service on a 1150GS please. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of before I start or is this a job for a dealer. 
So how difficult is it?

The fact that you ask the question means you're up for giving it ago... that's about the only qualification you'll need.

Thanks for the advice, I've downloaded some servicing info from the links on this site but is it worth buying a Haynes manual or buying one of the discs from fleabay?
I've done mine this year for the 1st time and it was pretty easy.Take your time,look up the instructions on the site for the tappets,the oils are simple to do,the throttle bodies are too if you have the kit ( where abouts are you ,I have a twinmax).The brake fluid is easier if it is a non abs,and the fuel tilter is a pain as it is in the tank,but only time consuming.I haven't done the clutch fluid yet as I haven't bought a bleed valve for it,but looks simple when I get round to getting one.My 1150 runs better after I did the 24k service than it ever did when the main dealer serviced it,and my local dealer is good.It is smoother,vibrates less,and rattles less.If you're up for it ,it is well worth the effort.

That's odd...could have sworn the ABS system should have been scheduled for a drain/replace/bleed at 24k....must have got it wrong 
If you go ahead and change the fuel filter, re-locate the thing on the outside of the tank so thast next time you can change it in 3 mins flat rather than having to have the tank off and all the gubbins out, as wel as having to do it all again three days later when you realise the float arm didn't go in right and your fuel gauge is lying like a cheap Moroccan rug

Don't leave the clutch fluid change to every 2 years as the BMW schedule suggests = change it at least every year, otherwise the bleed unit grub screw will be well and truly stuck. And don't overfill the reservoir, the level rises as the clutch wears.

Isn't it part of the annual service, rather than mileage?

A big thanks to everyone Shurv, I live in Devon but thanks for the offer of the balance, I'll have to take it to a dealer if need be. The only thing that looks tricky is the brake bleed, I've seen some threads on that so I'll have to re-read them.
