...to buy some spark plugs and the sales manager, who knows I like BMW's, said "we're picking up a BMW on trade this afternoon it's an Adventure, would you be interested?" I said no but what year? Turned out to be a 2012 with 120 miles on it. They were going to wholesale it to a BMW dealer but said I could have it at that price if I wanted it. (About 2/3 the cost of a new one.) I wasn't looking for a new motorcycle but simply couldn't pass that up.
I only rode it maybe 10 miles to get it home. Compared to my 09 GS, which I need to sell now, the GSA felt just a bit heavier in the front. I like the thicker seat and lower first gear. Not sure about the larger windshield and deflectors yet. The larger top load bags are nice but pretty wide. I like the throatier muffler. Other than an extended front fender and rear inner mud fender I don't see buying any other farkles for it. Anyway I just thought I'd share my new purchase.

yea right, stand by NN and Wunderlich - incoming!!!!

are we saying someone traded in a GSA for a Harley? blimey!!

Nice one:thumb So its not just BMW garages that have a habit of doing that then:D

Is it the bigger front wheel that makes the GSA slightly heavier on the steering than the vanilla GS.

Actually compared to my Diversion 900 the GSA steering feels really light

Nice one. I did something very similar back in 06 when I went into my dealer to get a new mirror arm for my 1150GSA. Came out with a brand new 1200GSA and still got it:thumb

So far I did make it through the Tourtech catalog w/o ordering anything. :D

He traded this and one of his Harley's on some kind of CVO Softail.

The wheels are the same on both. Compared to a GS I’m guessing there’s probably an extra 25 pounds on the front? The dealer did fill the tank, and there’s the extra bars, larger windshield. Then again maybe my impression was wrong. And compared with most street bikes it doesn’t feel front heavy at all.

So Sgt. Bilco you had it happen as well, and you still have your GSA so you must like it.

Anyway a couple pics. Hosing it off after just riding it home

Here it is solo with the Corbin seat, off my 09, which is probably the way I’ll leave it.

I'm really looking forward to spring now.

Nice bike :thumb

Looks better with the solo seat

Thanks guys! I think it looks better with the all black seat too. To be honest I would not have bought an aftermarket seat for this bike because the stock seat is pretty comfortable IMO.
There's not much room to move in this cluttered garage, but there is a guest apartment above it.

Try putting the stock seat on and riding it for 7-8 hrs. Then you'll be glad of your Corbin seat, or in my case, Wunderlich.
Something the original owner never discovered though!

If you imagine a tool chest in front of your front wheel, a door immediately behind your rear wheel, a small modelling lathe close to the right side of the bike and a wall tool rack close to the left side with no walking space either side- well, you are now in my shed! :D

Lovely bike and a garage I'd call home. :thumb

Nice GSA, Nice Glide, Nice Garage....but....and let's get down to detail....what's the red ped in the corner??? There is a fashion here for Mobylettes at the mo...:thumb2

Are you Merkens allowed 2strokes??
