So tell me what I need know about a GS1150 adv

Cheers. I'm still grinning when I leave the garage & lock up.

Note that nothing passed him...

I remember when I bought my 1150 back in 2002.
My motor biking mates in work thought I was mad - I took a lot of stick for buying a tractor.

Until we went out for a ride.

The ride "leader" who had planned the route had also been practicing it.
He decided to take off at full speed, and sod the rest of us.
I latched onto the back of his vtr1000 and stayed there all though the Cotswolds.
Rode the absolute tits off it.
Really peed him off big style, to have this old fogies bike riveted to his numberplate.
To rub it in, I kept popping forward when he braked - as though wanting to pass on the braking into a corner.
To be honest- I did have a case of red mist. He was a very competitive soul, and had to "win" the ride out - regardless of the slower riders - on slower machines - which really hacked me off, so I was determined to make sure that he had absolutely nothing to brag about afterward. But it was the bike that did it.
The bike was fabulous - absolutely unflappable.

No one called it a tractor after that.
It was after that ride that I gained the nickname "Captain Beaky"

And he sold his vtr shortly afterward...

I am so sorry I sold my 1150 now.
I hope the LC will make a worthy replacement - when it arrives!

And the bloke that bought my 1150 might be selling it back to me.
An 1150 and an LC - now that would be a really cool pair to own.

Mike.

Don't rule out a standard 1150GS. Doesn't look as cool for sure but is probably a better road bike. I'd go for either, get the best condition bike available and I'm sure you will be happy.

I think the OP's not listening anymore... he's not posted since last September ;)

He might not be but i am.....just looking to shift my zx10r for a 1200gs.
Each and every post helps others trust me :thumb2
