My mate and I are thinking about end of October/November (2008).

Is this a good time of year to go??

Yep.

October very good, November can be chilly in the mountains and dull in the desert but still a good month.

In theory you could have snow in the High Atlas in October, but the passes are very unlikely to be affected, and if they are, never for more than a day before they're opened again.

PS THIS may be of interest to you ;)

Flew to Marrakech at the end of last November for a few days. Warm enough during the day for a t-shirt, with a fleece after the sun set. You'll get about another hour of afternoon sun compared to the U.K.

It did piss down for one day but cleared up nicely the following day. I'd say it's probably on par with the U.K in about May/June time (without as much of the wet stuff obviously).

In 2006 is rained heavily for 10 days at the end of October beginning of Nov.

Been there March (3), September(1) and November(1). March was excellent, dry and warm even in the north. September was also good - but was quite hot the further south I went. November was much more mixed - much more rain and could be cold. Great place though at most times.:thumb2

Mmmmm.......

Many thanks. Certainly food for thought. I suppose I have an image of morocco as being dry and mostly very warm most of the time. Certainly don't want any rain if I can help it, but don't want it too hot either......
