Just booked the 1150 in at Ocean Plymouth for a service and their going to try and have a 1200ADV that I can borrow for the day for blasting around Cornwall on. So will I end up buying one?

I took my 1150 in for a service and a month later I went back and bought a 1200- good decision.....

i would say that anyone who knows anything about bikes would jump at a 1200 over an 1150 if they only tried one.

the 1150, good tool though it is, is an old touring barge dressed up as a dirt bike. the 1200 is designed by someone who clearly enjoys riding (on the road, it's still no dirt bike). it's so much more refined all round & inputs required are so much more delicate. the 1200 fizzes, the 1150 slogs.

to me, it seems obvious.

unfortunately, my theory has been shot down by several good riders failing to agree after a test ride

But do like the look of the ADV.

Went from the GSA1150 silver to a GSA1150 SE to a GSA12 and love the 12 but also loved the SE.But Riding the GSA12 home having Chopped the SE At SLM it just felt right ,lighter better in the corners and slightly less agricultural !! And its a big Buggar which at 6ft 6 felt great.Have a go don't have any preconceptions and enjoy it .If I could I'd have the SE and the 12 but then I would have to move out of the house and never see my wife and kids again so I'm told!!
