I don't think I am a poser although I used to ride a Goldwing and I like to keep the GS in top cosmetic and mechanical condition. Although I always wash and polish the bike after most runs, the soft chrome on the silencer is becoming badly scratched. I am even thnking of changing the standard silencer for a Remus Revolution. Does anyone out there know of an easy way to get rid of these polishing scratches?

Thanks for any ideas.

Chrome? Chrome? I thought th exhaust was stainless steel.

Pretty sure the silencer is chrome, Mick. Mine has a bit where the Touratech Special Set frame rubbed on it and it has taken the chrome plate off.....

Mike:)

No, I'm with Frank. I believe the muffler sleeve to be stainless steel.

You're both right. It's chrome-plated stainless steel. It'll never corrode, but it has the bright cosmetic finish of chrome.

Try a mild abrasive chrome cleaner, but test it on the underside of the silencer first so it won't show if it makes things worse.
