Soft Luggage/ Vario top box

Has anyone used the BMW 55l soft bag instead of the 35l Vario top box on the back of their GS? Looks ok with more storage than the hard box. Need to get something and this looks good value for the price.........

Yes, I have one. It's pretty good. It's a little too narrow for the rack. But that doesn't really matter.

I have a soft bag that I used to use on my K1300S. It's a great bag, and held more stuff on tour than my sports panniers. However, I was never really happy in having my stuff in a soft bag for security reasons, and someone would always stay with the bikes when we had services stops for coffee and a pee. On subsequent trips I had a padlock on the bag, but even then I knew the bag could be taken off with 4 plastic clips.

For a simple A to B trip i think the bag is great. For touring, I'll be buying the top box to go with my Vario panniers.

Note: I do worry a lot.

Thanks for the replies. As stated Security was a worry. might just splash out for the top box.
