Yes, mounted onto TT frames.

TBH I found them a bit of a faff to use with all the straps and 19l of storage each side doesn't go very far when you're 2 up. Solo I found it simpler to just strap a bag on the back seat.

That said, off road they make a lot more sense, and the straps ensure the load is secure. I originally bought them for my F800 GS and they fit the proportions of the bike well but the 1200 can easily handle bigger bags. Have a look at the adventure spec site, they do a set of bags that might suit better, think they're called Magadan panniers.

+1 for magadan bags,not cheap but well made and a huge amount of space:thumby:
 
Thanks guys. These one are 32ltrs each. I take the point about a big bag strapped to the back, but these are for 2 up touring wth SWMBO.
The Adventure Spec ones do look good, but i cant see how they attatch very well. mght look at PinkyTiffs when he comes back from the TAT
