Just had a mild off on my 2007 GS, first one in 10 years (must be getting old!). I was doing about 2mph and overbalanced after using too much front brake.
But bloody hell! The impact almost gouged a hole in the right-hand rocker cover. What are these things made of, chocolate?
Last time I fell off was on a 2000 1150GS, going considerably quicker, and it merely grazed the rocker cover which was just made of ordinary alloy, not 'magnesium' like the current ones. Presumably if that happened on my present bike it would be game over with a gaping hole pumping out engine oil making it impossible to ride on.

a fine mist of engine oil when at operating temperature.
