Typical,

Mrs's best friends hubby has popped round, we've been invited to a surprise birthday party on the Friday,

so just doing the negotiating bit,

keep the table booked :)

Ok table booked for 7pm on the Friday for 8 people although I can adjust that if necessary, and if I do it soon.

So far I think we have

Bumble bee
NeilDD
Santa
Pukky
Wapps
JonnyBravo
Myself

That's 7. Magnificent.

Ianak, Don, Cookie, will you be there on Friday? Anyone else?

Paul
Me please Sir!

PLEASE READ THIS

Right, that's confirmed. We're back in the bar now (now quite sure how their allocations work!).

What that may mean, is that dogs could be allowed. I am not sure, but if you do have a mutt in tow, you might want to call them and ask?

Their contact details are here - http://www.chequersinnlymington.com/

Now, because we're a bigger party, they have asked if we can pre-order.

So...

Please find the menu here - http://www.chequersinnlymington.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/january-2025-1.pdf - and let me know what you want to eat. The mains were quite substantial last time, so it may be simpler (in terms of sorting the bill) if we stick to mains? Just my thought, let me know what anyone feels in terms of simplifying this exercise which has every chance of becoming quite complicated!

I need to send a full list by the Wednesday before we visit, but it would be better if you could let me know asap.

No need to think about drinks, I have already pre-ordered 12 halves of shandy. :D

Cheers,

P

@Wapping
Any idea's on shopping list for Sat yet?

I’ve not given it any great thought.

There is (near enough) a dozen of us, so it makes little sense each person catering for 12 or we’ll end up with 12 x 12 which equals….. um….. er….. one hundred and….. er…… um…… lots.

I can’t remember how we did it the first time? Did we all bring our own stuff and just use the BBQ’s, with some bringing additional (saffer sausage, springs to mind???).

I am happy to bring bacon / sausages / bread / tea / coffee / milk etc for all for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday on a DIY basis, using my gas BBQ.

Are we all starter’ing or following Paul’s suggestion of just having mains?

If I recall from the inaugural bash
Everyone brought what they wanted to eat, or if they wanted, brought more than they wanted to eat, and ended up giving/ sharing with other people.

Same went for drink I believe, I seem to recall numerous bottles of a rather palatable red appearing, and sore heads the next morning

Restaurant wise, I seem to recall everyone payed for what they ate / drink separately, and then chipped in for a tip

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind splitting a bill, when it comes to food, but drinks, sorry I'll cover my own tab , :beerjug:

Richard,
I'll pop into Costco at S'hampton on the way and pick up a bag of bread rolls, we can use them for breakfast etc
