This was the site we (didn’t) use for the ‘We are not going out and it never happened’ camping in June 2021, when Covid stalked the land.
Post #25 (which didn’t happen):
I have contacted the site owner to find out the score. More news as, when and if they reply.
Please ping up interest (or otherwise) here, so we can get a rough idea as to whether the initiative is a goer.
PS One thing to maybe do on the Saturday or Sunday, would be to visit the tank museum:

I’m interested, if coming will be in my T5 camper van which gets little use since buying a caravan. Sod sleeping on the floor. I can provide a phone charging service via my solar panel.
I also have a small Camping Gaz Partygrill 400 portable gas bbq I can bring.
Alas no little dog in company as mascot this time, she was a well behaved girl at the last one.
Perhaps Adventuredon can bring some more of those fantastic sausages from that butchers shop he uses?

You are joking, right? It’s Lymington. It’s the New Forest, where the wealthy live in the affluent South full of classy folk.
Of course there will be hotels if that’s your bag, but they may be “reassuringly expensive”.
Google “Hotels near Lymington” and see what’s available.

Thanks for the replies and expressions of interest. Date wise, I’d prefer the Friday and Saturday nights, going home on Sunday.
I have heard back from the campsite, as follows:
1. They are / will be open, GWWP.
2. They can take tents, motorhome and camper vans. I have enquired about electrical hook-ups.
3. They can’t be exact about the pitches, only because they cannot use the grass if it sodden. I take that to mean, we’d be on ‘firm standing’, which is fine.
4. Within reason, fires are allowed. I guess we just have to be sensible…… I can see that this might cause a problem
I didn’t enquire about the price, but (based on the past) it is not going to be a king’s ransom, that’s for sure.

Hi, was at the museum last week great spot but you need to allow a good few hours to get round it to do it justice, I didn't realise how big it was & only had a couple of hours definitely not enough, also worth noting the ticket lasts for a year so my plan is to return next year to complete.
I camped at The Golden Swan, Walcot. SN9 5NN. Nothing fancy but good pub with a flat field at the back £10 for the night if anyone needs a pit stop on the way down..

Quite a good site from memory and about 800 metres (as the crow flies) from my sister’s house and the nursing home my mum is in, so I guess I have options if the weather is a bit shit!

I've camped there twice now. The first time having pitched up a camper and awning + a second tent we had a bit of a "difference of opinion" with the notoriously stroppy landlord (see Trip Advisor).
Second time was for the Wilts TRF camping weekend, where the landlord was on surprisingly good form. The TRF organisers had had issues though and said they will not be returning.
Put me down for a Campervan, and I can bring my Cadac gas BBQ as well.
It’s a regular stop for us, they are so laid back so it’s almost anything goes - we asked if we could have a fire & if so did they have a fire pit - the answer was just light it on the floor as long as there’s no nails - won’t it damage the grass was my response to which he replied ‘it grows back’

A. The motorhome(s) / camper van(s) can go on hard standing with, as they put it, the tents behind them. That sounds OK to me.
B. The hard standing(s) will have electric hook-up points. That too sounds OK.
The lady asked if I’d like to make a booking. I think we should but I’ll find out the price(s) first.
Then, make my booking but explain that there will be more of us and ask if it might be possible to have a ‘block’ close’ish together under the name / reference ‘Wapping’, with everyone then making their own bookings direct with the campsite.
I have though given her an estimate that there will be say 10 of us, in a mixture of tents, motorhomes and camper vans.
