I have an 05 1200Gs but i do not seem to find anything on the bike to moan about yet :D
but should i be asking for these software updates when it goes in for the service or just leave well alone ? as i am not aware of any issues the bike has,

Mine was like yours till the last service & the update keeps turning the aux power socket off :spitfire Waiting for the update update to fix it

The update fix is out- cos I had it done a week ago. I am told that engine management has no change

But haven't riden the bike since so cannot comment at this stage :(
The aux power shut down has been driving me nuts!

I have lost count, but my 05 is now on its fourth or fifth update, and each one has noticeably changed the character of the bike.

There was a rumour flying around that the computer can only take 12 of 13 updates

I requested the first update to fix a dreadful deceleration surge at about 2500rmp. Update cured that but then created other issues.

Every update so far has effectively been faulty so maybe that answers your query ieman

Bike now smoother but lost some of its grunt IMHO - down to fuelling I believe :nenau

The last fuel map update I had done seemed to increase power but I also noticed a drop off in economy/tank range.

I have just had my throttle bodies rebalanced as the bike was vibrating so much I thought I had a fault, the dealer said were well out of synch when checked. The fuel map remains unchanged. Now the throttles are rebalanced the bike is so smooth on and off the throttle and more powerful and responsive. I hope the economy/efficiency has improved too, a couple of rides should tell all.

Maybe its worth asking your dealer to rebalance your throttle bodies because they get out of synch as the throttle cables stretch with use. Its also worth having the valve clearances set properly beforehand as this also significantly affects how the engine breathes.

I had the latest update done yesterday (Accessory socket & ABS system updates).

After doing about 130 miles today, I can say that the brakes are performing much better. I would go so far as to say, they now feel like a really good set of conventional brakes (like Brembos).

The on/off ‘ness has been replaced by proper progressive braking performance and feel.

About time, Spot on :thumb

You're right about the ABS. Much, much better. Doesnt lift off the brakes over little bumps any more. After a few days I realised that this wasnt happeneing any more and had to test it to see if the ABS had somehow been disabled. It hasn't, it works just fine, but it's much less intrusive now.

Immediately, while riding away from my software update, I noticed 'something' different about the brakes. It was so dramatic that I thought they had adjusted the levers.. or something :nenau

I had not considered that this could be linked to the software. I need more miles till I can judge the change.
:D
