I had an old silver Givi rack powder coated black to match the new GS.
They charged a very reasonable fee and, because it was such a small job, asked me to put the money in the tin for the charity they've chosen to support for this year.
Not only did they do a nice thing for the charity, they also did an excellent job of finishing the plate; it looks factory fresh (in fact, better than factory).
If you want any coating doing you could do a lot worse than speak to these guys.
