I have been thinking to post these pictures for a long time but somehow never managed until now. My knee injury on the good side is giving me time to play…

I always thought to be affected by severe OCD, however meeting with Corrado was very reassuring because there is always someone who is in a worst shape than yours!

What brought us together was the passion for off road travelling, the way of doing it and some others common interests apart for the above mentioned OCD…
Only at a later stage I discovered his real talent…
This thread doesn’t want to do be an advertisement I just feel the desire to share such treasure.

Retired civil engineer, he owned R80G/S and R80GS since their release in the earlier eighties. Travelling across Africa during his holidays and across (and over) the Alps behind his house in Turin during weekends, very earlier, he felt the need of improving his bikes. His drive for mechanic, scientific and physic perfection helped him to develop a knowhow of these bikes, their component and aftermarket component that is not second to anyone. Moreover his desire of perfection pushed Corrado to develop his own parts and upgrade components.

The word of mouth brought more bikes to his garage where he helped people to develop their GS project.
When he retired three years back, he decided to put his knowhow into a small hobby/business. He now has a warehouse (that looks like and operating room-trust me!) in Turin where, with the help of a formal mechanic, he creates his masterpieces…

There you have some example of the most recent he has customised:

All the work involved with these bikes, including manufacturing of most components from scratch, happen inside this warehouse

…well I forgot to say that his other passion (and mine) are KTM LC8 adventure…

Acting on chassis and suspension is by far Corrado’s favourite mods. Along with the most common replacement of standard shocks and forks he has experience in more complex mods that will ultimately improve and change the off road capabilities of the GS. These involves changing the off-set of the steering head in the frame, a 50-80-100 mm extension of the drive shaft.

Some awesome bits of kit with some excellent machine work - does he do this for a living? Or is he simply very serious about his hobby??

If I tell you that is a pure hobby I would lie. There is some profit. However as I said he is retired after a long career as prossional civil engineer, so the passion over the profit was the drive.

Hi Phil,

Nice to hear from you! Well I am sure we can organise a good "guided tour" at his warehouse after or before the Hardalpitour next year!
If you go on the Ride Report session in this forum you'll find a report I wrote on the ride we took together.

Hope to see you soon,

Nic
