I've not posted pics before, so I'm not sure if they'll appear one at a time or all at once so here goes:

Or clearly not at all. Can someone tell me how to make my pics smaller so that I can post 'em on here?

ta,

Hi Phil,

If you open them in IrfanView, you can resize them easily (press Ctrl-R). Save again and you're done.

The program is downloadable for free here: www.irfanview.com

There are many other options to do it of course, but this is a very handy viewer with other nice features.

Cheers,
Michel

Technophobe :-))

Phil, you could try using Irfanview to resize them, it's dead easy. Get it here http://www.irfanview.com/ Then open the photo, click on image>resize> then select your size (it's got an option "best fit to desktop". Otherwise, zip them all up and email them to me...with a beer token attached.

As someone who has told Phil and shown him more times than I can remember I can tell you you're wasting your time.

The answer Phil (and I know it hurts you) is 30 of your finest US dollars and get yourself one of these then you can just do this

I have tried to post my Picos pics up from my office computer. I didn't want to download any picture manipulating software onto it, I'd rather leave that on my home computer. So, Mr Hobdall, thankyou for your kind concern, (or should that be sarcasm?)
I will try to reduce my pics size when I get home tonight.

Thanks to everyone for your help though guys.

Microsoft Photo Editor

Phil,

If you have microsoft Photo Editor,
open prog
Select File
Open (Select Jpeg image)
Select Image from tool bar
Select Resize
Resize appropriately
Save as new file

Attach new image

Phil.....email them to me and i'll sort it for ya ;)

Bill

(In fact, try emailing them to yourself first.......i believe the new Outlook express will resize them for you quite nicely......)

:)

Thanks for the offer Bill, i'm in a bit of a dilemma at the mo', my new Fuji camera (f410) works a treat, but, the software for it won't work properly on my home computer. This means I can't re-size my pics on it 'cause I can't upload them to view them.

I tried loading the camera software onto my system in work, and hey presto, I can view my pics, but, I can't re-size them to post them on the board. BLOODY FRUSTRATION!!!

Phil, you don't need to upload the pictures to the board, just get yourself an online photo storage account, as above.

Then link to them within the message on the board.

Roy, the problem is, I can't upload the pics from my camera to the computer to start with. I'll have to get my IT bloke to come in and sort my system out.

I know I drank too much in the picos, but I really dont remember it being THAT dry.

Load of hoo haa

Think im better off with my 35mm Nikon & while im at it, better stick with a map, torch & reading glasses. I feel better now.

A tip for everyone resizing photos :-

DON'T resize the original copy if that's the only one you have.
MAKE an extra copy first and resize that.

Going down in size retains the quality but reduces the number of pixels. So trying to go back up in size you get the new number of pixels spread over a bigger area and thus crap quality.

Been there done that...unfortunately!

Err, Uncle Albert, have you had your 35mm piccies developed yet. If so, I'd love to see them......:D :D :D
