Went along for a wee ride to Boxertools Bench to meet the Flatlanders today.

So, first decision- which way to go?

Oban or Inverary?

today008.jpg

Went with Inverary :D But the nice road over the hill has been fu ck ed now the cooncil has recovered it in yer typical cheap and nasty fashion- like a lot of roads in Argyll it now features a polished grip free surface just where you need it most...

today011.jpg

At least the useless feckers can't knacker the views.

today013.jpg

On the way to 'The Welly' it was 50/50 is it would rain.

Seeing as how we're in Argyll - it did.;)

Stopped at the outdoor shop in Killin for a nosey and on leaving met up with Skynet and we bimbled over the hill to the cafe where we met up with the rest of the crew.

A fine nose bag was enjoyed. ( I had prawn, coconut and spinach soup which was delicious)

today018.jpg

Tea and coffee drunk and then it was time to leave.

today020.jpg

A bunch of us set off over the hill and I stopped to take some piccies now the drizzle was off

today021.jpg

The only footpath I remember seeing was in Killin about 10 miles away...

Wully

Thanks for taking the time to take such a variety of Photos from the day. Was impressed with the route and scenes and will soon revisit it in the better weather to take some photos.

Forgot I did take a few pics today.

Couple of shots of the river at Killin and one from the launch of the new R1200GS SE at Bishopbriggs. Didn't quite make it back in time to catch the BBQ but there were a couple of custard creams left.

It is indeed. But did the NTS no close it last year?

Is yir braw noo camera the pink ane?

Naw- camera is green, matches Fruitcakes ipod:rolleyes:..

Don't know nuffin about a visitor centre being shut 'cos that's the first time I've been up that road. Last time we tried to get over the hill to Boxertools bench the road was covered in ice and snow just after the main road turn off.

The ice and snow didnae keep a pair of tosser from a wee ice road adventure that day though.,,,

The car park beside it looked pretty busy on Saturday so I assumed it was open.

Those would belong to Munro baggers doing Ben Glass and Ben Lawers. It's like Piccadilly Circus on the summit every Saturday.
