Hey all,

So as I understand it my Denali D4 - yet to be fitted - have Datadim technology which when connected to Ezcan allows the lights dual intensity to increase when I flick the high bean switch.

But isn't that a standard option in the Ezcan regardless of the lights that are being used?

And also what's the third wire for. My previous lights - now dead - were 2 wire Amazon jobbies which were set to 80% intensity during the day and 30% at night. And when I flicked the high beam they went to 100% - so isn't that also the same as Datadim?

The EzCan can change the voltage to give differing outputs.
The third wire works as a dual circuit with the Datadim unit so there's no need for an EzCan. Simply switches off the High beam circuit using a trigger wire with the original loom that comes with the lights.

Ah ok. So if using an ezcan I don't need to wire up the 3rd wire? Just thinking I can use the existing 2 wire loom from the old lights instead of doing a complete rewire too.

If you’re using the ezcan then there’s no wiring to be done. It’s all original wiring. The D4 loom will be three wires and plugs straight in.

Yeah I don't have the D4 loom I have the loom from my old lights which were just 2 wire.
They should've come with the loom unless you bought the individual units separately .
They'll work with just two wires but you will need to make sure to use the two wire plugs on the correct +ve input.

Yeah I did buy them separately from A Bike Thing. I must admit I was expecting a loom to arrive too. Realised afterwards I probably should have bought the bundle/kit. Nvr mind. I'll make do with what I have. I'll take the pigtail they've come with into the existing wiring. Assume, usual colour scheme. Red +, Black - and yellow is the trigger wire.

Thanks for the help btw. Much appreciated.

For anyone else going down this route and reading this thread in future. I did discover on the EzCan website FAQ it says that you might experience some flicker at low intensity if you don't connect the 3rd wire. And on my last set of 2 wire light I did in fact experience flicker and had to have them set at minimum 40% to stop that happening. So have run an additional wire and and have set them to 30% in daytime and just tested. Looking good so far.
