I have a rallye 3 which is on its way out and am looking at the Rukka range which I can make no sense of with all the choice!

I want a jacket that has goretex but don't want separate goretex inner like my jacket...I want a waterproof outer that will keep me dry and not absorb water and weight 30 stone and take several weeks to dry out!

So which one do I "need"

Whats up with the rally 3?

sorry, rally 2 is what I have!

just old and smells now after over 40k miles and 7 years

The Rukka Armas is the one to get, not cheap but in my opinion probably one of the best. Had mine for over 18 months and it has keeped me dry in torential rain and cool in summer and warm in the winter.
:)

Have a look at this, virtually half price, goretex proshell. I bought one a while ago, well chuffed with the quality.

That looks like a bargain.
It is laminate Gortex too, so does not hold water.

I used to have Rukka Armadillo, but, after serving me well for 4 years, it was all swapped out this year as it was fading to purple.
I now have a new set of Rukka Argonaut, for free.
You have to love the Rukka no quibble 5 year guarantee :)

Hi
Have a look at Klim. I have the Latitude jacket which has been great. Waterproof and good quality.

Wash and a re-proof and it will be good for another 40k - :thumb

sorry in advance for hijaking your thread, :D how do you get a rallye 2 clean?? and what do you use to re proof ??

What the hell is it that fades to purple - the Cool Black anti-heat impregnation? The BMW suits (of which I own one) with the same feature are also prone to the same effect.

Do you reckon that 15-20% of the asking price goes into the financial support of the 5 years guarantee? Someone must be paying for it - or Rukka would go bust!

There's a bar owner in Galway still trying to dry out his floor after you and another three Rukka wrinklies lunched at his establishment I seem to recall:augie

Oh no! That ain't proshell. That's C change. Completely different kit, and I'm sure it's good, but it ain't proshell.:blast

C change is something different, thats supposedly the ability to keep you coolish when its hot and warm when its colder.

Nanosphere® finishing treatment. Thats what makes it the same as proshell. The water is not absorbed by the material it beads right off it so unlike my non proshell Rukka jacket it doesnt get full of water and become heavy. The Rukka is great but when it gets very wet in cold weather it can also transfer more cold to the rider because the water it holds becomes super chilled in the wind blast.

I'm not aware that my Armas suit holds water ... gets damp in heavy rain, of course, but doesn't hold water :nenau

In fifty years of motorcycling it's certainly the best I've had :thumb
