winter boots

Really depends what sort of riding you will be doing, but I have had my Altbergs for five years and they are superb.

Completely waterproof, very warm, and off the bike just as comfy as on (I have used them twice on trips to Lapland skiing as walk-around boots and they have been toastie warm - just slather them with black dubbin every now and again or Altberg's own "gris"

I have had my couriers for two years now very pleased with them, would defoe buy another pair:thumb

Owning both Altberg Clubman Classic and TCX Infinity, I'd have to recommend the TCX Infinity. The Altbergs are well made, warm and waterproof but as a traditionally constructed boot, they offer less in the way of crash protection. So, get the TCX Infinity.

thanks guys, hope to be doing a bit of off roading so will need a bit of protection.looks like a toss up between the infinity or the courier.

Daytona's work for me. Waterproof, comfortable and warm. Mail order from Germany to save a bit.

I currently wear Daytona Roadstar GTX (£220) which are really good. Before that I wore out a pair of Sidi Black Rain Evos (£120) which lasted about 3 years of everyday riding in all weathers.

Either are good :thumb2

The TCX Infinity look almost identical to the pair of boots I bought from Hein gericke. They are made in Italy and I am now going into my 3rd winter with them :thumb2

Yes, I think that the TCX Infinity, the HG Rallye GTX II and the BMW Savannah boots are probably all pretty much the same boots made in the same factory and with only detail differences.

Having said that, I couldn't fasten the HG boots around my muscular calves whereas the TCX ones are a tight but comfortable fit.
