After 60k miles it's suddenly stopped using oil
I'm just back from a 4.5k mile trip with the bike loaded like an expedition camel and my partner squashed into the pillion and it only used just over 0.5l (first top up from leaving north Scotland was in Slovenia), last year over the same distance with the same load it took 1.5l.
I bought the bike with 30k miles and the previous owner had documented the oil consumption and it was pretty much similar to what I have had over the last 30k miles but perhaps slightly more, so...at 60k miles is it just starting to settle in
I kept thinking that there was some sort of air lock stopping the oil going down and was kind of relieved when it did finally move down the window.
All that and an average of 50.1 mpg
Shame that the gearbox is knocking like a b*****d though...
