After 60k miles it's suddenly stopped using oil
I'm just back from a 4.5k mile trip with the bike loaded like an expedition camel and my partner squashed into the pillion and it only used just over 0.5l (first top up from leaving north Scotland was in Slovenia), last year over the same distance with the same load it took 1.5l.
I bought the bike with 30k miles and the previous owner had documented the oil consumption and it was pretty much similar to what I have had over the last 30k miles but perhaps slightly more, so...at 60k miles is it just starting to settle in :D
I kept thinking that there was some sort of air lock stopping the oil going down and was kind of relieved when it did finally move down the window.

All that and an average of 50.1 mpg

Shame that the gearbox is knocking like a b*****d though...

my bike is on 64 k miles and I change the gearbox to a rt box as the last one was sooo loud could not hear my engine but I put a new clutch in any way soo keep riding yours !!! all the best

1150?
on short trips (15 -20km to work) it seems that mine uses oil, longer trips (200km+), no problem
I think that even though the temp gauge shows working temperature, when it cools down the thermostat hadnt got complety up to temperature and so it holds oil in the radiator and provides a false indicaiton in the sight glass.

I think I worked this out only last weekend when I topped up with a little bit (200ml or so to bring it to 1/2 in the sight glass) oil after only 500km, but then after 600km it was at 3/4 full.

Summary, check the oil after a longer run, and excess goes through the breather in to the airbox clean side.

I could be taliking rubbish and I am sure someone will soon tell otherwise
