Before plunging into the expense of a purpose-made set of earphones (Duocom etc.) to link with a Bluetooth dongle and the Zumo, I thought that I would give the Sony DRBT20NX Bluetooth Stereo Headphone Set a try:

I can pick this lot up for £35 on Amazon and iy seems like a pretty cheap and simple way of hearing route instructions and listening to MP3s.

The earphones look compact but I just have questions about how far they stick out and whether or not they are sufficient to block external noise.

Have any forumites experience of the Sony unit or is there anything similar but better on the market?

Cheers all

I have and they work fine but a bit uncomfortable so I went for some flat ones on E bay. Trouble with then is you can't hear them above 30mph.

Not sure what to try next

I use the Sony headphones (not bluetooth) plugged into my 550.They work a treat under my Shoei Hornet. No external noise.Audio directions and MP3 perfect. If the the Bluetooth works ok it looks like a cheap option.I may take that route myself. I will watch this space.

You'll only get Mono sound from the Zumo and I doubt the mic would work unless you stop the bike and hold it to your mouth?

If you want good music quality maybe better going for a wired combo direct to the Zumo for about £30 http://www.starcom1.com/pp-06.jpg
And get some decent headphones.
The sony HPM-70 ones are excellent quailty (Search EBAY for 270281730781) and have the short cable to plug into the starcom unit.

Sound quality is nearly as good with these as my Seinheiser ones but cheap as chips on Ebay (just throw away the phone connector)
