Has anyone tried one of these phones thru an Autocom system, and if so, what RAM mount would you recommend?

I've used a p900 with the little adaptor block on the bottom of it feeding into my autocom.

Works fine, phone in pocket, in goretex bag. Probably work just as well in a tankbag.

Record voice tags for your common callers and it'll announce them as it rings.
Voice dialling is not much cop on the 900 when stationary, and hopeless above 40. You need to say a magic word to wake the phone up, then the voice tag. That coupled with the autocom muting is a bad combination.

I was surprised to find it called out to my parents while riding through Sutton one day, after shouting something universally rude at a car. So be careful if you have tourettes.

so we know you love your parents then!:D
and the cute little nickname you seem to have for them:rolleyes:

The autocom bluetooth unit is actually a Nokia car unit and it is far from small!

It is also much more expensive to buy from Autocom than the same unit from Nokia.

The bluetooth issue is one that I am very surprised Autocom haven't really adressed properly and I think if one of the competition do this first they will lose a lot of their market share.

So how close to it are the boys at starcom?

The Sony Ericsson is a complex beastie, but thanks for the feedback everyone.

I haven't gotten around to the 'magic word' activation on the phone yet, but have noted the unintended consequences!

The bluetooth application is the obvious solution of course, and Autocom are not even close yet (as far as I know). Its something they need to address quick befor esomeone else steals a march.

Anyone come across a mount though? I do have a bag on the handlebar but I would prefer to see the handset, not least because its doubling up as an MP3 player (and I don't think it is good for it to be bumped around with all the other things I keep in there).
