Hi
Have a problem with my left thumb and I am having extreem difficulties in switching off the indicators, and no I don't want to leave them to switch off automatically. Having seen the quality of the corrispondants on this site I look to their electrical ingenuity to come up with a solution to have a switch on the left bar.

Switch off the indicators with your right thumb.........:augie

Actually the self-cancel is a more simple rule:

They turn off after 15 flashes, once the bike is travelling at more than 50KPH.

Colin, how does the problem with your left thumb affect your ability to cancel the indicators? The cancel button is on the right :nenau

Sorry guy's the problem is with my right thumb. I can operate the turn signal, but when I lift the thumb to the cancell I don't have the range of movement to allow this easily. Apoligies for the confusion

Hi Colin

I am not being flippant and probably teaching you to suck eggs but you only have to touch the tapered end of the switch to initiate the cancel. You can touch both buttons at the same time so the range of movement required is negligable.

Never sacrifice position for safety

Cancel when you close the throttle to change gear.

Get an auto electrically competent friend or bike shop to swap the wires under the tank around so that the horn/LH indicator and cancel/RH indicator buttons are reversed. I find it works a treat, best bit is I can use the horn properly in an emergency instead of turning on the LH indicator to let errant morons in cars know of my precence :thumb2

Hi Luke
What a great idea. Will get it done this week. I hope BMW look at this web site as yet again the level of expertise is amazing. Thanks again
