Sorry a pleb question re FD oil quantity

I am just sorting changing the oil in the gearbox and final drive on my GSA, the book says I should be using 230 mil in the final drive. I have got to 210 and it is dribbling out of the Fill hole.

First question is should it reach the fill hole ?Secondly if it does do I need to take some out? Or are we all good?

230 is probably after opening it ?

i fill to the screw threads , spin the wheel , to coat the crownwheel , top up to the bottom of the threads .
