Sorry but I have to ask TYRES only two choices pls don't say about other makes .

I have to say I'm still not sure ! I had got in my mind that it would be 50/50 but now I'm thinking of getting the roadtec stuff the £50

Must confess, when I choose tyres for a bike the last 2 criteria for me are mileage and price (within reason)

All I want to know about is wet and dry grip, handling, feel - flickability - stability, abscence of tracking etc, and maybe punctures since I had PR4s

Never had any problem's with the PR4's which was the 35mpg, the trailriders are giving short breakaway slides it even gets the asc to work !

I've had Batlax A40. Stocked well in all weathers. Much better than the conti road attack

Am I the only guy who thinks that you need the right style of tyre on a GS? Personally I think PR4's look shit on a GS, the bike needs something with a more adv sport style tread, like the Avon's

Not sure

I started putting Road tires on "big trailies" back on my first Varadero in '99

They came with OEM Michelin T66 mixed tires which were OK but I swapped them out for Pilot Road 1 which were much better

But that was long before Ewan and Charlie made it fashionable to look rufty tufty

Just fitted trailriders so has a friend , no complaints, plenty of grip, and stable,
the front is a bit slower turning compared to pr4, similar to tourance,
Early days but likeley to fit them again,

I have done about 600 miles on my Roadtecs and absolutely love them, they are super grippy but to be fair it has been pretty warm.

They have a good front profile too, my A40s I had before I went over the edge of the front a couple of times, the Roadtecs are a bit more rounded and therefore better imo.

Bought bike with anakees they are ok no problems with grip but noise also front was worn new rear but front now is feathered and needs changing soon
But rear is still good.
Not had experience on tyres as born again well 7 years out and never on adventure bike so if not for the noise I quite like the anakees .
Went to Devon rain wind Sun gravel ion wet roads never had them slip grip ok but noise and also 99%road so don't need the chunky tyres

Avons are great so far. Done just over 150 dry miles and chicken strip is already smaller than it was after last year on Anakees, even taking it easy as per fitters instructions as they are new.

Brilliant

I put Roadtecs on my XR on the recommendation of Redrick and they were a Excellent well worth the money I think

I am just about to have another set !

The rear has now done over 4K as has the front. there is a little life left in the rear but not much. it has kept its profile really well and still does not feel horrible on white lines and things. Loads of life left in the front but it has "shouldered" up a bit to the point where you can feel it with your hand so a new one will be worth it for a week in the Picos

I reckon that with gentle and smooth riding ( that is not me ) the roadtecs would comfortably see well over 5K rear and probably 8 -10 front which considering the level of grip they give is bloody marvelous !

My mate has just put his second set on his SDR rready for the picos and similar miles out of his
