Ok, it is not me, it is my girlfriend. I own an 800gs since oct 08 (one of the first shipment into Aus). I have been researching a Kawasaki 250r like a religion (like I looked at this forum before I got my 800). Looking at the Kawa mods, alot being DIY (not bolt on), look like fun. ningette.org/newninja.com

My girlfriend is quite short (4ft9in) and is wishing to be a rider not a pillion. Cruiser bikes are too long (arms) sports bikes are to high (feet).

The Kawasaki 250r is meant to be better for shorter people (vtwinmama.com). We have had a look at a standard bike in the show room. There will have to be a few mods (roaringtoys.com lowering kit, seat cut, 1in platform shoes) to fit a person of 4ft9in (don't know instep yet) but i think that it will work.

BUT ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? (not cruisers)

Lowered 650 gs's seem popular amongst the shortarses [and the young ladies on here] with lowered seat and Koubalink .....
PM Jaq as she is tiny and rode a 650 single and rides a 650 twin now :thumb2

I'd say lowered 650 or a HD 883...I'm sure they do a low version that shouldn't be a stretch either.

I was looking at the Aprilia Dosuduro(?) yesterday. It looks tiny next to my 800GS

The new F650GS XCountry is a likkle gem. 650 single, 53hp soooooper smooth, rides great :thumb

Can be had with factory lowered suspension/seat etc.

That's me :thumb

Ever since my Nav II got jet washed by the Omsk Bikers in Siberia and I ended up navigating with an old Silva compass, at night, in the Altai mountains of Mongolia......

Ever since We got lost walking the streets of Almety and couldn't find our way back to the hotel......

Ever since I went over the Atlas Mountains of Morocco using the Topographical maps in the aquired likkle Garmin Quest......

I've doubled up :nenau

Sorry... probably sounds a bit pompous, but the truth is that I'm a gadget freak

In my tank bag I got two Swiss Army knives, a Gerber, a Leatherman and a Winchester 'multi tools' ;)

any low bike suggestions other than a BMW?
(not cruisers)

(Lowered 650gs comes close, but engine is an 800, 650 is the max by law at this point)

Yamaha Serow is very popular amongst the vertically challenged as well
