South America Winter 2016

14 months to go and I'm already excited about this!

Chris, I've already sent you a confirmation, but again here I offer my help for anything you need.

I've done a trip a few years ago from Bs As heading west, then north to the limit with Bolivia and then back, in total it was 5000km. Be prepared to encounter all kind of roads, a lot of gravel, not much infrastructure and having to change plans because of closed roads. During the summer there are many gravel roads close to the Andes that crosses small rivers coming from the mountains, a lot of fun if they are not very big, but sometimes it will force you to take a different route. There are better roads on both sides of the Andes, but they are usually not as fun.

Cheers,
Leo

I have a provisional leave pass from SWMBO on this one, which is probable harder to obtain than one from work :blast

I'm having a pre South America trip meeting up at Adventure Bike Warehouse on Saturday 21st February for all those coming on this years great trip (you all should have an e-mail shortly) where I'll be fleshing out the trip as it were. www.adventurebikewarehouse.co.uk.

Everyone is welcome to come along if you are interested in this trip or indeed any of my other America trips for 2015 /2016 which include a Coast to Coast 2015 and Alaska 2016, full Trans America Trail 2016 (dirt) and a potential 3 week saunter across to Moab and the great Canyons for 2016 (should be a cracker). The specific South America meeting is at 3pm but I'll be there from around 1pm if you want to chat about anything USA.

You will also be very welcome if you are just thinking about a US trip of your own or even just bike shipping as I'm happy to help out, give advice etc etc. Skygod will also be happy to talk about his Morocco trips as well so a good all round day to clear the winter blues and think about some big adventures.

Skygod will putting on his usual pots of excellent chilli as well and there will be tea and coffee and probably more than a few biscuits. Skygod has lots of brilliant kit on show as well in his showroom which is worth a look.

Everyone is welcome even if it's just a destination for a winter ride and a good blather!!

Chris,
I've sent you an email regarding the deposit for this trip
Cheers

Chris, do you know already at least roughly when the container arrives and departs back from BA?

Thanks,
Leo

Not yet mate, just doing the initial planning at the moment. Probably July time.

Chris, as it's early days, any chance of planning the TAT for 2017? Will be able to look at some of your trips from then onwards and, the TAT with some good company appeals. South America also is of interest, but i'm on nights for coming to the meeting and i can't get sufficient time off whilst i'm still squirting water so, i'm hoping that'll be one you'll plan to visit again.
