Just to recap, as an aid to those who've done nothing yet, me, who's booked what, where, when and how much

I held off booking the flights until a fortnight ago and am glad that I did. Flying with British Airways on Saturday 9th Dublin-Heathrow-BA and then returning on Saturday 13th BA-Heathrow-Dublin. Air Lingus will be covering the Dublin-LHR-Dublin bit. I paid a total of £612 which was a pretty good price I reckon. You may notice that I'm not flying home until a week after the trip as my daughter is coming down from San Francisco to meet up and we are having a touristy week together in BA.

I've just replaced my 57,000 mile shock absorbers that were past their best.

Does that count as prep work?

I started into preparing my 111k mile 1150 at the weekend.
Heidenau K60 tyres
Replacement throttle bodies
New throttle cables
Alternator belt
Rocker arm end float and valve clearances
Paralever bearings checked
I still have to do a full service and all oils change
Any other wee jobs that I notice that need doing.

Drop the FD oil soon Aiden. Prepping for Alaska in 2012 mine came out grey .

Aside from regular engine oil and filter changes I change the gearbox and fd oils every year Packer as I average nine or ten thousand miles per annum. It's good to check the fd in particular for any signs of wee shavings of bearing.

Flights now booked with BA - bit pricey at £1017 but they're direct and include drinks!

Depart LHR Thu 7 Jan at 2210 - Arrive EZE 0855 on Fri 8 Jan (Economy) and return
Depart EZE Sat 6 Feb at 1405 - Arrive LHR 0625 on Sun 7 Feb (Premium Economy!).

Booked via Expedia, same price as BA website, but includes Nectar points (ie; bonus points with SWMBO) and discounts on hotel bookings. So just need Bilco to confirm which hotel his contact recommends and see if the discount applies?

How's the Spanish coming on?!!
