If you are, or know a teacher or someone who works at a school there is 20% discount at Staples until 3 July 2003.
You can get a SPIII De-luxe kit for £718.39.

Thanks for the heads up!!

Just purchased a brand new Streetpilot 3 deluxe from Staples using the school discount thing...

£640, as the retail price was £799. BARGAIN!!

having looked around on the web, £799 is more than competitive anyway.

Cheers!

This sounds like a great deal. Do I need to take the teacher to Staples with me or just show them some sort of proof that I know them?

Ellis- I went to Staples at Beckton but the SP III was listed at £ 899.00 and online it's listed at £849.00. Which branch did you get your SP from at the list price of £799.00?

No point in dragging a tame teacher along, the offer has closed!
However another thread says that Costco are even cheaper.
:D

The only downer with Costco is that the don't accept credit cards  ( but they do have an excellent returns policy... ;) :) )

Check the small print

before you use your credit card company supplied cheques, be aware that some of them treat these cheques as being the equivalent of a cash advance.................. which attracts a 1.5% charge to your pocket.

BTDT and told Barclaycard to stick their card as a result!

credit cards

Yes they do take plastic as I use mine every time that I go.
They do not take 'all' cards but they do take some.

Spend wisely young man.

The only plastic cards Costco in Thurrock take, is switch and some type of card from Barclays (that I don't have :p ). I went to the Costco branch on the North Circular Road last Sunday but didn't notice if they were more accommadating with their payment methods there.

That warning about using credit card cheques is quite correct. I also think that in addition to paying a fee for using them, the goods purchased using them are not covered in the same way ( insurance & warranty ) as if bought using the actual credit card.
