I think on the 1150 there is three sets of rear end bearings ?
The pivot bearings ( fairly easy to swop out)
The final drive bearing and seal ( not so easy as the pivot)
The bevel bearing ( pain in the arse)
Having just done my pivot up to remove the play, and seeing that poor guy left stranded in Switzerland by that shit dealership, Im going to carry some spares when I go to Europe in future. Paranoid ? Maybe but I don't want to be stuck at the mercy of a shit dealership, not to mention the cost.
Question is do folk carry these bearings as spares or just maybe one or two of them ? And do the bearings cover all the 1150 from 02 through to the end or were some bearings different in later models ?
I'm seriously thinking of putting a spares kit together for traveling but where do I stop ?
So what's in your spares for repairs travel kit.
The bikes are getting older now so a wise precaution ? Or just go forth and hope for the best ?
Feel for that guy in Switzerland stuck for days on end because of a poxy Bearing or two.
