Spare key cutting and coding

Hi folks

Needing a second ignition key cutting,

Do i need a particular key blank?

Do i need the key electronically coded to the ignition barrel

im on a vreg 1150gs

I had mine cut at local key cutting service - who supplied the blank also £4 the jobs a gudun.

No, there's no transponder, or you can get it done on flea bay-
