I had a 12volt outlet wired into this socket which I removed.
However I want to plug my Garmin 660 into it.
Will I need to have it fitted by a beemer dealer so that the outlet regnises the line as a satnav through the computer system.
Or can I just plug it in ?
As my bmw dealer fitted the satnav to the RT for me and when I removed it from the bike I found they had fitted a relay so I am asuming I will need to refit this relay to the gsa.

Should be just plug and play. No relay needed. It will power up and down with the ignition

The Nav IV/V cradle will plug straight into it, anything else you will need to buy the plug from the dealer and graft it onto the wiring.

Cheers guys, I'll plug and play.
I kept the socket from when I last used it for the Rt so should just plug straight in.
Saves me paying my beemer shop to do it for me.

I didnt have a proper touratch mount so used the spare mount with a U clamp, not the best but it did the job.
And I rode up to my relations house in Hampshire for the hell of it to drop off chrissy cards and used the satnav because I have only been there once before.
Everything worked as it should but on the way home the Garmin kept coming up saying ( lost connection to usb ) !!!

Anyone had this happen and knows why ?

The spare connectors I had tucked under a panel on the under side by the tank.

I get the bmw canbus cable from Cannons for £8 see there is something they do well..
