spark plugs on twin cam

Anyone know what the scheduled service life is for spark plugs on the twin cam engine? Reason I ask is that I have just booked my r1200rt for a 12000 mile service with Jefferies and they have given me a quote which includes changing all 4 spark plugs whcich adds a big chunk to the cost. Seems a bit early to me ( and they were changed on my GS at 24000m) but perhaps spark plug life is shorter for the newer engine, although can't see why that should be the case.

Done a web search for the a maintenacnce schedule for the twin cam engined bikes but can only find one for the earlier engines.

If you can buy them cheaper take them along an get them to fit them..
