A friend also had parts that had been paid for, he went there this morning and insisted they hand them over, they did! I for one am gutted that this has happened.
If there are administrators in, anyone who has paid for stuff and not got it, is probably at the back of a long queue of creditors. No doubt BMW have retention of title clauses in their terms and conditions of trade with all their dealers, so they will be able to come and collect anything of theirs that has not been paid for. This might limit the number of bargains available, at least on new stuff. There might be some good deals on second hand bikes though.
The administrators will then flog anything they can find that has no retention of title, just to get some cash in to pay their fees, the bank will have security over any real estate, and at the end of the day there will be little or nothing left to pay the 'ordinary' creditors. So, if you bought stuff with a credit card, worth more than £100 you should be able to get that dosh back from the credit card company.

Well after hearing this I'm off up there in the morning to collect my supermoto wheels, exhaust and other bits.... .not happy... will then have to find out what happens to the bits I've paid for that were on order....

The shop was perfectly positioned between Vines, CW's and Reading area to give itself a large consumer database without treading on too many toes.
IMO - It moved to Alton to distance itself from the ,then massive spectre of M/C city just up the road in Farnborough and did a good job of doing it.
So all the comments on this board along the lines of SPC not being as good as they used to be - before they were sold to present owner - seems to have come to fruition ?

Hopefully it will sort itself out, being new to the South Coast I was looking forward to having a friendly dealer up the road (and a decent road at that!). The guys there seemed helpful but there were problems with bits... I guess they were already having problems, you can't blame the helpful sales and service guys for that....

Speedyello...............you will most likely have a wasted journey and chuck good money after bad, using fuel to drive over...........because the Administrators won't let you have goods that you can't claim title too with specific individual identities - ie a bike left in for service that you own and they have no financial interest in.
Goods/clothing won't count and will be classed as stock, caught under the bank's debenture, after BMW have got theirs out under a retention of title clause

I agree with you on clothes and stuff, I'm going to get the wheels and standard exhaust etc. that they didn't deliver with the bike but are owned by me just awaiting delivery. The other bits and pieces I'll take on the chin if the worst happens but will keep fingers crossed.

Most cars go for 10k miles before a first service - why would anywhere between 500 and 1000 miles be a problem ?
just ride it- or go to CW's before they get swamped.

I find it a bit of a coinsidence, I called BMW Coppers in reading yesterday to see if they could book my bike in; I was told that as of the end of September they no longer service Bikes
