More over-priced wank-fuckery for the bearded top-knotted cockwomble to blast to the Bike Shed for a halfcafmoccachailatte 🧚

Triumph make more special editions than they do standard models .
Reading the article just who are these collectors that buy such over-priced shite ?

Its only overpriced if nobody buys them. I had a 1200 Thruxton that I really liked. I would consider a standard Speed Twin (being more comfortable and having better suspension and brakes than my Thruxton) but not this 'special'. Don't worry, it won't be long before the Chinese are sending over cheap copies.

It does look great...but ÂŁ16k ? (Yeah....many bikes are silly money nowadays....)

Really? I think it looks great. If I was 30 years younger I'd be looking lustily at this. It's not out there for fat, bald over 50's with a bad back who have given up on looking good
I didn't comment on its looks ... I said "It's the bike that nobody asked Triumph to make"

Triumph dropped the Thruxton & Thruxton R because it wasn't selling. They even produced a 'Limited Edition' TFC model which came with a certificate & leatheret rucksack

They then brought out the Thruxton RS then the Thruxton RS Final Edition and during all this time from 2019 on the Speed Twin 1200 outsold the lot of them

If you are a customer for this kind of bike I would suggest buying an early Thruxton R for ÂŁ6000 and then spend some of the ÂŁ10k you will save on making something a little more unique than this tarts handbag :augie

The standard Speed Twin 1200 is a good bike.
I had a 2020 model just before they tweaked the suspension. It was great to hoon around on but pretty useless for anything else. The only accessories Triumph made were mainly Bling for the bike. No decent screen, no proper luggage etc. For that, you needed to buy the T120. Because of this, I sold it after a couple of years.
Triumph misread the market with the 400 models I believe. They thought the majority would be bought by youngsters but in reality it was the older biker who bought them. Why they decided to make a Cafe version of a bike that the older biker struggling to sit upright would buy, beats me.
I still have a Tiger Sport 660 which I do like, but that has evolved a bit to quickly with little increase in the price which just devalues earlier models too rapidly. They also seem to bring out too many models which are not too far apart from others in the range which I can't understand.
This bike....... Mmmmm. I suppose they will turn into Garage Queens over time.

With only 800 available (that's less than 1 per dealer globally) Triumph won't have any trouble shifting them. If nothing else it makes the showrooms more interesting to look around and Triumph get the media coverage for another great looking limited edition. It all helps promote the brand

Aren't they the sort of bikes we love? I have an 1100 Monster that is only good for hooning around on but I like it far more than my GS

I had a 750 Monster many years ago. It certainly attracted attention wherever I parked it up, but I hated that useless turning circle. Also wasn’t the most reliable bike - had problems with relays erratically working, and also the carbs icing up on the motorway in very cold weather!

Touch wood, 3 years and 6000 miles all I've had to do is new tyres and oil/filter (and a tail tidy to replace the hideous number plate hanger). I'll treat it to new belts and a proper service next year. It doesn't get used in cold weather or on motorways, that's GS territory. When I do change it (no plans at present) I do quite fancy a Speed Twin as I loved the engine in my Thruxton. I'll look for the USD fork, Stylema caliper version and hope the previous owner splashed out on quality replacement shocks and a fruity exhaust

I fitted some Hagon rear shocks to mine - so much better!
