Recently changed my Km clock for a second hand MPH unit.

The speedo reads around 5% fast (about normal ?), however the odeometer is clocking up mile at the alarming rate of approx +40%.

Should the speedo drive also be replaced to match the MPH clock?

The replacement clock appeared to have come of a crashed bike, so was also wondering if it is damaged internally.

Cheers Tim

Tim,

As both readings come from the same source (Speedo Drive) I would guess that if the Speed is reading more or less what you'd expect allowing for the usual percentage error, I'd suspect the guts to be damaged:(

Tripmeter

Just run a comparison between the bikes tripmeter and the tripmter in the SP3. At 100 indicated miles on the bike the GPS was showing 94, no indications of GPS outage, and it was on the whole time the bike was moving.
