speedo stopped

I was looking at it - doing about 80-ish - and it just stopped .

I suppose its the cable ? Can you buy the inners alone or do you have to buy the whole thing ?

Being used to Guzzi's - where cable breakage is a weekly occurence - but replacement inners are about £3 each - i've never actually watched one break before though.
