On my old PC i had XP and the ispell icon was to the right above the Smilies when typing a message.

Problem is now i'm using Vista, downloaded ispell and its not next to the smilies, nor can i check my spelling.

It does underline the mistakes in red but does not let me alter them.

Using Google Chrome if that makes a difference?

Any ideas as my speling is cr@p

It might be in the menu bar.

Hi mark

I'm no I.T wiz :) but i also use windows vista home version
what i found when i downloaded the ieSpell check was
that it put the icon for it in the menu bar in Internet Explorer.
If you don't use the menu bar you will not see the icon
It's easy to put it on display by doing the following
when in windows Internet Explorer go to Tools Top Right of screen
Then check the Menu Bar
you may also find that the ieSpell options are in tools menu.

Hope this is of some use to you :thumb

Junk Chrome and use FireFox with downloadable dictionaries.
It spell checks as you type.

John

Done as you suggested and downloaded mozilla firefox but no spell checker for me?

bit of a numpty when it comes to computers so 'step by step instructions' on how to set up would be good please..

Start FF, click "Tools" on the menu bar, in the dropdown, click "Add-ons"
Click "get Add-ons" and it will download a list for you to choose from...
If its not listed, type spell check in the little search box.
There are UK and US dictionary's. and dictionary managers.
If not listed, click the "see all resiults" at the end of the list. This will open a new browser tab at addons.mozilla.org

After they are downloaded, the install is automatic... I think...

Should do you,
Cheers,
John
