Spin me right round baby!!

Front brake on hard, first gear, lots o revs. 'Doughnut' it round

Ok - I had this same problem when I first got my 1150. The easiest thing I discovered in the end was to 'reverse' the bike into the driveway. After the first couple of times one becomes really adept at it - basically sit astride the bike and paddle it backward while looking over shoulder/in mirror... it is then facing the right way for a quick getaway!

dont know how strong you are but i have to turn my 1200 through 180 degs all i do is put the side stand down take the weight of the bike and pivot it round on the side stand you can do it stages but once you get the knack its quite easy
Yep, done this to oil chains etc on bikes with no centre stand (who needs them anyway ;) ). Not sure I'd want to do it with the GS side stand, it looks too weak, I even worry it's not strong enough when fully loaded and tied down on a ferry, there's one hell of a lot of give in that sidestand.
