Spoked rear wheel in black satin finish - Respray?

The tip of a cable lock I had around my nearside soft pannier has been in contact with the rim of my rear wheel on my return journey to the UK and worn the paint off the nearside of the wheel rim. I am exploring options, starting with a respray. Has anyone had this done or know of a company who does this?

21 plate 1250 TB.

Those rims are anodised rather than painted. I'd think you'd need to strip it down completely and get the rim re anodised. You could have the rim painted I suppose but since you've taken the spokes out, may as well do it right. Can't see how it could be painted with the spokes in place.

A mate damaged his anodised rims whilst cleaning the wheels on his ATAS, He had to get new rims.

Or else you could cover the rub marks with some rim stickers, assuming that where the rub is allows it.

Thanks. I had reached a similar conclusion. The issue will be trying to find someone who is willing to put the wheel back together after adonising. Looking for a used one has just turned up badly scraped, chipped and corroded ones so far!! The only decent one is close to the price of a new one with 2 years guarantee (£1,350). Fine if you're just swapping wheels over to go off road, for example, but she's my baby!

I do have all winter to sort it out I suppose after my last trip in September.

Try a local independent car smart repair specialist. They can do some amazing touch ins with an airbrush

I put alloys on mine when I first got it. Bought them s/h off here and got them refurbed in satin black. I occasionally put the spokes back on when I feel like a change But at least I'll still have good OEM wheels for it when I decide I want the change the whole thing for a Neuwankpanzer. Alloys only cost £35 a piece for powder coating if anything goes wrong with the finish.

You'll find a back wheel about 100 times more easily than a front.

I've got a lovely rear spoked wheel to sell, but unfortunately it's gold.
