Anyone fitted a Sport screen to the 1200/1250RS? It would be shorter than the standard BMW screen. Had a test ride on the 1300 Sport and it was a revelation. Quiet and no buffeting more air to the chest.
I bought a reasonable priced aftermarket screen form a UK company - not sure of the brand, and kept trimming it down, bit at a time, until I found a sweet spot. It was quite short in the end and it worked really well.
Once I got to the right height, I made good on the edge with fine sand paper. It looked fairly decent too.
As I remember, I took off way more than I thought I would to find where it worked. The std. screen literally did my head in!! Reshaped one was great.

what are your thoughts on the 1300rs i found the quickshifter really stiff and clunky the screen seemed to be the same as om my 1250rs i find my 1250sr shiftr smooth also the engine seemed noisy on the 1300 just my thoughts on the bike i rode , saying that it had only done 500 miles also noted the whine from the gearbox with the straight cut gears , still like them but waiting to see later
I had the ASA version for a test ride. Smooth, positive shift in AUTO or Manual. No clunk, can't comment on noise, I use ear plugs. Ergonomics put me off, luggage and price. Shame you can't have the ASA without ESA. My 1250 Sport RS, after few changes is perfect ergonomically and is only 2 years old. PS. just measured the screen on the 1300RS, is only 13.5" high, measured in the middle.

I'm struggling to see the appeal of the sports variant TBH as I've made changes to my 1250RS to make it more comfortable, not less and this you can't have this with that mentality they've gone back to sort of defeats the factory order they use as the defacto supply model. If they're after younger riders, hoping they'll switch to BMW the PCP deal featured in the MCN group test was around? £100 a month more than the Kawasaki Z1000SX they seem to have missed the target on that front too.
I put an MRA vario on mine, shorter than original but with the ability to tune the wind flow with the adjustable small visor worked a treat and looked a lot better than the original as well
I found the standard screen Ok in the lowest position. But then I traded in for a 1250R which is obviously a much better bike overall which I fitted a WRS screen to
Simply took a zip saw to the OEM screen after trying a nice taller one. To no avail.
Lowered noise round my helmet. Removed weight from my wrists as wind hits my torso. Gives me more air when touring - hitting 30 degrees in Europe in June.
I don't ride in winter.
And yes I've ridden in torrential rain, but that's what a suit is for.
