If there fitted they are checked. Just unbolt them for the mot :thumb

Or disconnect from the loom if on quick disconnectors.

Or put tape over the lenses.

Yup :thumb

This inspection applies to: all machines, except those which have neither front nor rear position lamps, or have such lamps permanently disconnected, painted over or masked that are
. only used during daylight hours, and
. not used at times of seriously reduced visibility

If this situation occurs the machine presenter should be issued with an advisory notice recording the above and it should also be recorded on the carbon copy of the VT20.

Yep got two bikes with lights that do not comply .So when it's time for MOT I tape over the lenses with duct tape and get a day time MOT.. Only need horn..RR :beerjug:

Thanks. Just got back from the testers' with the new ugly A4 printed sheet and no fail despite the spots not working nor did I tape tape them up.

Must have been lucky then.

BTW it is freezing today! Now I remember why I became a fair weather rider.....

I have fog & driving and just had the bike tested last weds , no problem, not even mentioned.

I think you'll find that spots are not covered because they are not positon markers. If they were hard wired into the dip beam you might have a rpoblem with alignment but it they are on their own or with the main beam they shouldn't count at all.
