spot lights,

ive been given a set of spot lights off a 2011 1200,
problem is that it literally is just the pair of lights with
about 8" of bare wire sticking out of the back of them.
does anybody know if it is possible to somehow fit them to
a 2011 gsa?
i thought it would be possible to buy the rest of the wiring
and switch gear and brackets etc from bmw but my local dealer thinks not.
only sold as a complete set up.

If they are spots, then wire them in with a relay, using the main beam as the trigger.

If they are fogs, wire them in with a relay, using the low beam as the trigger, but with an inline switch on the trigger side so you can turn them off.

BUT! - what are you trying to achieve? These BuMW lights are pretty crap and are fine if you want extra daylight running lights but not much else! The lenses on them put paid to that!

Can I suggest that if you want spot lights, flog the ones you've been given on here and get something better suited to the job.

thanks for the advice, but, i don,t ride at night very often so only
as day time running lights.

There are many low cost but good looking LED lamps that are perfect as day lights. The cheaper ones scatter the light more than spots so do a much better job of making the bike more visibile.

Check out CREE LED cycle headlights on ebay, amazon, google, etc. They run on batteries, but its no big deal to wire in a voltage step-down box to supply them off the bike's electrical system.
