I have just fitted a wunderlich spotlight which came with a Givi wiring kit.
I hope I have grasped most of the connections except one.
Wunderlich say connect the black single wire to the sidelight feed but that means the feed to the spot will be on immediately the ignition is switched on.
I would prefer to have the spot fed off the dipped headlamp but having just fitted a HID set up am unsure of where to connect to.
Any one able to decipher my ramblings with a suitable answer.

Dip beam on my 1200 is on with ignition so I would wire it via a handlebar mounted switch then you can choose when to use them.

If they are too bright in daylight wire an LED dimmer via dip beam and use the switch to bypass the dimmer.

I have wired it through a switch but didn't want it on when starting if left on accidentally previously.
I thought the dipped beam came on when the engine had started and only side light when ignition turned on or am I mistaken ?
So I thought it best to wire the supply from the dipped beam supply so the engine starting load wasnt impeded by the load of the spots.

That's what mine does, no headlight until the engine is started, fogs don't come on either until the engine is started.

Hi .... Just doing the same job ! I am taking the feed from the park light , however I don't have a multimeter or a wiring diagram I have a yellow, brown and a white wire which is the live feed ?

Cheers

Hi guys, some help please if you don't mind. Searched everywhere, but couldn't really find an answer...

I have the 3600 lumen spots fitted and connected to the dim light that goes to the trigger of a relay that switches on the spots same time as the dim light comes on, which is always and with the canbus.

At night though the spots are too bright for oncoming vehicles, and having to switch them off at the handlebar switch every 5 seconds is just not working.

Does anyone know how I can get the spots to work as follows:

During daytime they should always be on with the headlight on dim or daytime running light.

At night I wish them to be able to work with the brights trigger located on the handlebar cluster.

Here is my thought to accomplish this- maybe rather use the switch that came with the spots, and instead of just an on/off switch, connect one wire to the bright light, and one to the dim light that is already connected now. That way I can use the on/off switch to effectively switch between dim light at daytime and bright with its trigger at night.

Any advice? Will this work? Alternative ideas please?
